Ice Dogs Hockey: 2024 Season Year in Review
With the close of August Ice Dog Hockey capped of an incredible 2024 Spring/Summer tournament season. Here’s a look back at some of the highlights that made this season one to remember:

Record-High Participation: With over 350 player registrations, the Ice Dogs set an all-time high, reflecting the growing passion for hockey in our community.

Expanded Team Lineup: We proudly fielded a record 18 teams this season, ranging from U8 (2017-2018 birth years) to U18 (2007). A key highlight was the addition of our U21 Junior Showcase team (2003-2007 birth years) and our very first all-girls team competing in the U13 division.

Competitive Success: Across 45 tournament entries and 229 games, the Ice Dogs posted a 124-90-15 record, scoring an impressive 834 goals and allowing just 666.

Championship Glory: Eight of our teams captured tournament championships, a testament to the skill and determination of our players and coaches. Here are this season’s champions:

Most Active Team: The U13A (2012) team, sponsored by B&I Complete Truck Care, stood out with six tournament entries and 29 games, showing unmatched dedication throughout the season.

Team of the Year: Congratulations to the U10 (2015) team, sponsored by Northern Turf Solutions! With a 13-6-1 record across 20 games, this team played up a division in three tournaments and capped off their season with a thrilling championship win at Wasaga Beach.

Honourable Mentions:
- The other U10 (2015) team, sponsored by How to Hockey, posted a stellar 13-3-2 record over 18 games while winning two tournaments.
- The U12AAA (2013) team, sponsored by Effective Automation Systems, clinched a tournament championship and recorded an 11-4-0 season.
Looking Ahead
As we gear up for the 2025 tournament season starting in late April, Ice Dogs Hockey is excited to continue offering a variety of programs during the off-season. Be sure to watch for announcements about our PA Day and March Break single-day events, as well as pop-up tournaments for select age groups.
