The Orillia Ice Dogs proudly congratulate Ethan Procyszyn on his recent selection in the 3rd round of the 2024 NHL Draft (68th overall) by the Anaheim Ducks. The draft took place June 28-29th at Sphere in Las Vegas.
Immediately following his selection, Ethan received an invitation to the Anaheim Ducks' annual prospect Development Camp at Great Park Ice & FivePoint Arena in Irvine, California (July 1 to July 5). This five-day camp features on-ice skating and skills sessions, off-ice strength and conditioning, and leadership development activities led by coaches from both the Anaheim Ducks and the San Diego Gulls, as well as the player development staff.
More About Ethan
Ethan, a center from Wasaga Beach, stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 192 pounds. Known for his physicality and strong defensive work ethic, he effectively uses his size to protect the puck and create offensive opportunities.
Ethan has been a key player for the North Bay Battalion in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). During the 2023-24 season, he tallied 36 points in 62 games and played a crucial role in North Bay's playoff run to the OHL Eastern Conference Finals. He was drafted by the North Bay Battalion in the second round, 31st overall, in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection.
Before his OHL career, Ethan played minor hockey in Wasaga Beach before moving on to play AAA with the North Central Predators. In 2020 & 2021 he would play with the Orillia Ice Dogs' Spring/Summer tournament teams. During his time with the Ice Dogs, Ethan played in 22 games across four tournaments, contributing to the team's championships in all four events.
