Ice Dogs Teams Shine in Collingwood Tournament
Two Orillia Ice Dogs teams showcased their skills at the Blue Thunder Cup in Collingwood this past weekend (June 7-9, 2024).

U10 Division (2015 Team) - Blue Thunder Cup Finalists

The AA team, sponsored by Northern Turf Solutions, had an impressive 3-1-0 record in the round-robin, securing the second seed for the playoff round. They triumphed in the semi-finals with a 2-0 victory, earning their place in the tournament final. Facing the Georgian Bay Owls, who had previously defeated them 4-1 in the round-robin, the Ice Dogs kept the game close but ultimately fell 1-0. This was the first tournament of the season for the 2015 AA team, and their hard work and determination were evident throughout the weekend. They are set to compete in two more events in Alliston this July and August.

U12 Division (2013 Team) - Blue Thunder Cup Champions

The AAA team, sponsored by Effective Automation Systems, ended their spring/summer season on a high note by winning the championship. They dominated the round-robin with a perfect 4-0-0 record, earning the top seed and a bye into the championship game. In a thrilling final, the Ice Dogs faced Breakaway Hockey and secured a 4-3 victory in overtime. The 2013 AAA team participated in three tournaments this season, with this championship marking their first tournament victory. They finished the season with a commendable 11-4-0 record over 15 games.

Both teams displayed remarkable talent and teamwork, making the Orillia Ice Dogs proud.
